2012: The Year in Review

2012: The Year in Review

2012 is going to be a hard year to beat.

  • I finally got to see both Maritime and The Flashbulb play live!
  • I made a ton of new friends, went to a bunch of inspiring meet ups and lectures, and drank some amazing beer.
  • I won a few huge contests, including a new Raleigh Revenio 3.0 Bicycle, a $5,000 Panasonic shopping spree, and a Beautyrest bed.
  • I celebrated my 1 year anniversary of being a dog owner.
  • I got to go with Katie on a week trip to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin for her church camp.
  • I got engaged at the Chicago Lakeshore!
  • I got married at the Happy Days lodge! One of the most memorable days of my life.
  • I experienced my first Optimus block party.
  • I spent a week with Katie’s family at Glen Lake in Michigan.
  • I went skiing for the first time!
  • I rode the Megabus with Jack to Pittsburgh, where we stayed with Carl and participated in an International Pinball Tournament (how’s that for a bucket list!)
  • I got my first iPhone and bought a Macbook Air!
  • I programmed my first Arduino project!
  • For the first time, I created something that I was able to monetize (Vimeography – a WordPress plugin for creating video galleries.)
  • I moved in with my wife into our first house!
  • I got a full-time job working with Nick at GreyscaleGorilla
  • I bought my first real NERF gun and Christmas tree.
  • I rode my bike from Lakeview to Evanston in the freezing rain.
  • I spent my first Christmas with Katie
  • I went on a tour of the Goose Island Craft Brewery in Chicago.
  • I learned that I was becoming an Uncle.
  • I took secret photos of my brother’s engagement.
  • I moved in with Jack on a 1 month layover before my move with Katie

Looking back on all of these great memories, I feel so overwhelmed with the love and happiness that was provided through my friends, family and wife. I’m looking forward to building great memories and working on new and exciting projects in 2013.
